Mon is already talking about dismantling the military and then there are planets that genuinely need liberating (like Kashyyyk) and the senate is like ‘nope, don’t care’. And then when the first order rises, like you say, no one wants to know (a thing mentioned in the Poe comic). It makes me wonder how Ep IX will play out.

Exactly! She’s purely emotional and frustrated, because this is a situation that needs resolving now, not weeks or months in the future (at which point the trade federation could have hid what they did).
