I'm still trying to figure out the best way to organize and collate some of these posts, because I'd like to group some of them together if I could, but that does mean a lot of combing through posts and I don't think DW has the ability to do multiple drafts, which would be really helpful right about now.

I want to eventually have a nice, organized (and easily navigable) compilation of all this stuff, but the way tumblr is pretty much "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" really does make it harder to go back later and make an archive of it, rather than living in the moment.

Oh, well, onwards I go, I shall figure this out as I work on it!

This is one of my favorite issues of any Star Wars comics, because Anakin is tromping through the woods and tentatively floating the idea that he wants more from life, things that a Jedi shouldn’t maybe want, and hinting that possibly he’s going to leave the Jedi after the War.

Obi-Wan doesn’t directly confirm that he understands that Anakin is thinking of leaving the Jedi, but he’s not stupid and it’s pretty clear that he does know what Anakin’s thinking here and... it’s not necessarily what he’d choose, he himself is a Jedi through and through, but when Anakin is serious about this, Obi-Wan’s response?

If this is truly what Anakin wants/is good for him, then Obi-Wan will do his best to support him, whatever those choices happen to be.

Do I think Obi-Wan would have made sure it wasn’t a whim if they had survived the war and Anakin said he was leaving the Jedi? Of course, that’s what Obi-Wan does, he makes sure Anakin is on the best possible path. But would he have supported Anakin leaving, if that’s what he really wanted to do?

YES, OBI-WAN WOULD HAVE SUPPORTED HIM. NOW DON’T TOUCH ME, I’M CRYING ABOUT MY FEELINGS.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is not someone who wears his emotions on his sleeve, he is very much about subtle gestures and understated words, but he whole-heartedly means them and he was entirely devoted to Anakin and did his best to make sure Anakin knew he was available for emotional support whenever he was ready for it and I’m not crying about it noBODY TOUCH ME I’M CRYING ABOUT IT.

ETA: Though, I wish I'd collected some of the scenes from TCW to add to this, because that conversation about Rush Clovis is very much Obi-Wan trying to talk to Anakin about the intense, consuming anger roiling off him, but Anakin keeps lashing out at him, so they don't get anywhere. UGH NOW I'M HAVING SAD FEELINGS AGAIN.
