I meant to format more meta to archive today, but then a) giffing ALL THE THINGS happened and b) also NAPS ARE GREAT happened, so instead some brief round-up content.

- This College Humor tumblr video had me legit irl cackling by the end of it, by the time I go to, "GO TO HELL!" I lost it. I like ProZD's tumblr video as well, the ending of, "I'm free!" made it, but the CH one is even funnier.

- No new new Steven Universe yesterday and I'm sad about that, since it'll be another week until we get the new episode. "Legs from Here to Homeworld" hadn't aired on TV, so it was a "new to TV" episode yesterday, and the new-to-everyone episode will be next week. SIGH. What ELSE am I supposed to do?? CATCH UP ON ALL THE OTHER STUFF I HAVE TO READ/WATCH?

- Well, I guess. I'm catching up on The Simpsons and just got to their TV recapping episode and, honestly, I mostly only still watch the show out of momentum, because I like animated shows and it's just comfortable enough to keep going. It's been a rough ride because they haven't really had anything new to say and, okay, this one wasn't that interesting, but at least it wasn't yet another 20+ minutes of nothing but weight jokes at Homer's expense. The poke at people recapping shows was kinda cute and it's nice to feel like the show is trying again! (I could not get more than two and a half episodes into Disenchanted, like, guys, no, you don't have to try that hard, please stop trying so hard to be edgy and humorous just because you're on Netflix now.)

- There was no new episode of Bob's Burgers this week, either, and I don't know when I became so addicted to this show? It started off as being kind of super off-putting and weird, a bit too LOL RANDOM (especially with so many women being voiced by men), but eventually the relentlessly good family--"weird, but happy kids" as their uncle described them--and them being actually good people won me over. It's one of my favorites now, because it's just so entirely good natured.

- I have written approximately 40 recs for a new Star Wars set and still have about a dozen to go and the problem is that people keep posting cool fic that I want to add to it! I'm never gonna catch up at this rate! But it is another reason I've been a little AWOL lately--that and ALL THE GIFS--because my brain is finally in fic-reading mode again. \o/

Disenchanted definitely had a really weak start, and I wouldn't say it's super strong later on, but I do think it gets reasonably better. I'd personally rank it as "I wouldn't put off watching other shows to watch it first, but I'll probably keep up with it and I don't regret pushing past the early eps." YMMV.

If it gets a second season and that season is really good, I think I'll try pushing through the early episodes, so this is a good response to keep in mind! My biggest problems--aside from the tryhard feeling of it--is that I kind of hated what they were doing with Elfo and his crush on Bean, as well as how I just could not unsee him as a palette swapped Bart.

I wouldn't mind the lack of SU so much, but Diamonds!! Homeworld!! THESE THINGS ARE MY JAM.

Aww I had a similar thing happen Saturday. Resistance eps air here Saturday mornings so I figured the last one before the break would be there as normal but noo, and no one seems to know when it’s gonna be on. Hee I’m with you there. So many things to watch but so little time.

I’ve not seen any Simpson’s in awhile sadly, mostly because I don’t get sky so the eps and the free channel that does get it mostly shows repeats (and right now they’re on the same time as a rerun of Stargate I’m watching). I quite liked Disenchantment, but I think I pretty much binged it over. A week.

I loved Bobs Burgers but I can’t find it to watch! One of the sky channels seems to have it and won’t let it go sadly.

I think Netflix has Bob's Burgers? That's how I wound up binge watching it and getting really sucked in--they won't have the newest season, of course, but I think they have at least four seasons or so? Or, you know, the old Google-where-to-watch thing.

I definitely have periods of time where Star Wars fandom gets really frustrating and disappointing, especially when a spate of anti-Jedi stuff gets going, but then other times there are fics that just really hit all the right notes and I remember, oh, right, it's still really worth being in this fandom! And so I keep toughing it out. ^_~

Aww yeah it can be frustrating at times which sucks. Fics are awesome, I’ve not read many Star Wars ones though alas. (Although yay, I did manage to read some of the comics today, a few of the annuals Star Wars 1 and 2 and Aphra one)

Ooh, nice! How are the comics going for you? I haven't read much of the main title (it's one I usually have a lot to say about and the last month or so has been more about catching up on Dark Lord of the Sith) but I've heard very good things about it and the Aphra comic!

My problem is that I want to read the main title + Darth Vader vol. 1, then read Aphra because I'll understand the context better, so I keep putting that off. And I want to finish Empire's End before reading the Poe Dameron comic because there's context/spoilers for the Aftermath characters in it. YOU START TO SEE MY PROBLEM. XD

Thanks! I’m playing catch up with the ones I have. I’m bad with the mainline one too. The annuals were pretty good though, I liked the Aphra one most because it was funny and the others (especially the firstborn Star Wars annual) was pretty drum. Now I’m doing a read of the original Vader ones since I got the graphic novels for them

Dark Lord of the sith looks awesome though! I have a few issues of fortress Vader but haven’t started on them yet. (I wanna get all the issues after Christmas and read them all at once, so I’ll likely get them when I order the age of republic ones and Umbrella Academy)

Oh I feel you there! I’ve not read any of the Aphra comics before the annual.

I totally see your problem! Like I mentioned, I got some of the Vader graphic novels so wanted to reread them for context too. But yeah, so much to read!
